TRANSPORT TO THE START OF THE MARATHON (included in Entry Fee)
OPTION 1. Pick Up: Moke Lake
*Please note – you cannot drive yourself or be dropped off at the Marathon Start Line. All participants must travel on the Race Transport provided.
Transport by coach will be provided by QT Rafting and Skippers Canyon Jet on the morning of the race - departing from the Race Finish at Moke Lake.
If you choose this option you will need to drive a short distance from Queenstown (approx 13km / allow 20 mins drive time) to the Race Finish at Moke Lake where parking facilities will be available for you to leave your car near the finish line – so that when you complete the marathon your vehicle / personal items will be on site.

OPTION 2. Pick up in Queenstown
If you are staying in Queenstown the night before the race and have somebody to collect you from the Finish at Moke Lake - you needn’t travel to Moke Lake on the morning of the race to meet the coaches to transport you to the start – you can simply be picked up outside the Queenstown Rafting store on Shotover Street, Queenstown (main high street). Transport again will be provided by Queenstown Rafting and Skippers Canyon Jet.

DIRECTIONS FROM QUEENSTOWN – MOKE LAKE – (APPROX 13KM)
- From Shotover St (Main High Street in Queenstown)
- Continue on to Lake Esplanade 700m
- At the roundabout, take the 1st EXIT on to Glenorchy Road 5.4km
- Turn ‘RIGHT’ on to Moke Lake Road 2.5km
- Drive straight on to a 4WD Road and follow this road for approx 5km until you reach the Ben Lomond Woolshed. Follow the signs and instructions of Race Officials
PERSONAL BELONGINGS:
*Marathon - A Luggage Truck will be located near to the Start Line to transport personal belongings to the Finish Line.
REGISTRATIONS:
ONLINE Marathon Entries CLOSE AT 12pm Midnight on Sunday 17th February 2013 unless the MAX number of Marathon entries (400) have been reached beforehand.
Manual Race Entries for the Marathon will be available at Outside Sports up until 8.00pm on Sunday 17th February 2013.

ENTRIES ON THE DAY: 5km, 10km & ½ Marathon
Entries available ONLINE, at Outside Sports - Queenstown and at the Ben Lomond Woolshed - Moke Lake on Race Day.
Race Day registrations will be available between 8am – 9.30am
RACE NUMBERS / RACE PACKS:
Marathon Race Packs to be collected at Outside Sports, Queenstown on Thursday 21st February and Friday 22nd February 2013 between 9am –8pm.
5km, 10km and ½ Marathon Race Packs to be collected at the Race Registration area located in the Ben Lomond Woolshed, Moke Lake on Race Day.
COMPULSORY GEAR CHECKS *MARATHON ONLY
Gear Checks are compulsory and will be available / carried out at Outside Sports in Queenstown on Thursday 21st February and Friday 22nd February 2013 between 9am – 9pm.
COMPULSORY GEAR REQUIRED FOR THE MARATHON
Short Sleeve Thermal Top, Long Sleeve Thermal Top, Full length tights, Seam Sealed Waterproof Jacket, Thermal Beanie & Gloves. The above gear must be worn or carried for the duration of the Event.
First Aid Kit which must contain the following - 1.5m long (un-stretched) roll of 5cm wide crepe bandage, a 5m long roll of 2cm wide strapping tape, 10 band aid strips, a triangular bandage and small scissors, survival bag.
OFFICIALS: All participants to follow Markers (RED ARROWS) on course/s and follow instructions of Race Officials
CHECKPOINTS: MARATHON
Please make sure your race numbers are clearly visible when passing through all checkpoints along the course. Random spot checks will take place on race day so please make sure you are carrying all compulsory gear required for the Marathon to avoid disqualification. NO EXCEPTIONS. This enforcement is for your own safety.
DRINK STATIONS: MARATHON
Participants are responsible to carry their own Food & Drinks – however Water and HIGH5 will be available at the START, CHECKPOINTS and at FINISH area - PLEASE SEE MAP

Water and HIGH5 will be available at approx half way in each of the 5km, 10km and ½ Marathon events as well as at the Start / Finish areas

AFTER RACE FUNCTION:
Don’t forget to bring your picnic blanket or deck chair to relax after the race whilst waiting for the prize giving. ‘Wanaka Beer Works’ will have a mobile bar set up in the Ben Lomond Woolshed to purchase Ale at your leisure but also provide ONE FREE Ale to all competitors – over the age of 18 of course! There will be entertainment to while the time away and keep you amused… if the scenery hasn’t captured your attention already!
CAR PARKING:
There is plentiful car parking in the grounds surrounding the Ben Lomond Woolshed – please follow Marshals Directions and signs
REFRESHMENTS: Refreshments will be available at the Ben Lomond Woolshed
WASTE: Please dispose of any waste in the rubbish bins provided
FIRST AID: First Aid Facilities will be on hand and located at the START / FINISH area
MASSAGE: Massage will be available near the FINISH area for a minimal fee
