*Lake Hayes TRI – Postponed for 2021

I hope you are keeping well and staying active.

At todays COVID-19 press conference the New Zealand Government announced the next stage of the COVID-19 response plan by developing a new Traffic Light system to replace the current Alert Level way of life as we know it.

From our understanding having read the latest Ministry of Health Guidelines and listened to the the latest updates, Auckland will remain in Alert Level 3 and the rest of the country in Alert Level 2 for the time being. Once 90% of the population of those whom reside in each of the regional DHB’s have been fully vaccinated, each region will enter in to the new Traffic Light system.

With the above information at hand, adhering to government regulations, guidelines and the health, safety and wellbeing of participants and spectators attending the event and many uncertainties together with the many logistical challenges faced with multiple events and transitions on the day it deeply saddens us to inform you that this years Lake Hayes Triathlon event on Monday 27th December 2021 has been temporarily postponed. 

We know this isn’t the news you wanted to hear and appreciate it is terribly frustrating however the current situation is out of our control.

We are working closely with events partners and stakeholders to host another event in the first quarter of 2022.
